Holly fades!

Easter Fun!!

Easter was lots of fun for Holly and Carson. Saturday we went to an Easter Egg Hunt in the Park and Holly got to hunt for easter eggs. It was a sponsored easter egg hunt and the Easter Bunny was there too. Sunday we got all dressed up in our Easter Sunday Best and went to church. Right after church we got together with the whole Hickman family and Holly and Carson got there own Easter egg hunt in the backyard at John and Soozee's. Then we had dinner and had some fun. Both Holly and Carson were wiped out and went to bed early. So-I thought I might as well get the pictures up on my blog since they are in bed!
I hope everyone had a great Easter Sunday!

Our new truck!

We got a new truck! It's an '83 Chevy. Chris calls it "Jimmy"-we name all of our trucks. We now have a Chevy truck like Amy and Rusty (their truck is "Bob") and John and Soozee (their truck is "Rodo"). Chris saw our new truck in town and the guy that owned it took really good care of it- a newer motor was put in. I like that it runs, drives, has power windows, power locks. There is a catch-I made a promise with Chris if we bought this truck he needs to sell all his other trucks. That means sell 3 trucks that don't run (and have been sitting in our field for 3 years) and sell 3 trucks that do run and drive. So, I have been bugging him every day since we got our new truck to see if he has done anything to sell the 6 that we have already. He is working on it. The whole idea behind "jimmy" is now we have a truck to haul and go to the dump and Chris doesn't have to do much work to it-since Chris has little time and too many projects already. So, Chris is finally taking my advise and getting rid of project cars and only focusing on one old car (like his '73 Duster). It will be nice to see our "junk yard" in our field cleaned up and finally sell all the trucks we have been meaning to sell. It will take some time, but believe me it will get done!!!! Or else- I told Chris I will start auctioning things off. I sound mean-but really I do spoil him with his car stuff-don't you think?

Carson loves his big sis

Today I had the day off and it was raining-so we played inside and watched a movie. Holly was laying on the floor and Carson layed down right next to her-I couldn't get the camera fast enough to take them laying next to each other. Of course you have to be fast with Carson because then he started hitting Holly and wanted to "wrestle." He likes to try and beat up his big sis, but you can tell he loves her.

Car show

Chris took Holly to a car show in Portland last weekend. She got lots of free stuff and got to sit in the cars. Holly's favorite part was meeting Miss Oregon because she is a princess and has a really big sparkly crown. Holly got Miss Oregon's autograph picture. Holly loves going to car shows with her daddy.

Car show

I got a playyard for Carson. We actually call it his cage. It is very handy when we are trying to get things done and then he can't get into everything. When I first set it up he was in there and loved it. He plays quietly for hours and he also likes to play with Holly by throwing balls out of his cage and Holly throws them back in the cage. Carson loves that game. He did realize after a couple hours that he can't get out of it, so now he does get upset when we put him in the cage. I have been using it by teaching him that he can't get into everything or else he gets put in the cage! Most of the time he will cry, but will soon stop when he realizes he has toys or books to play with. He also likes to walk along the sides. He is getting very close to walking on his own.

Caged up!

Holly's party

Holly's party

Holly turned 4 years old and we had her birthday party at the church building in the cultural hall. Holly wanted Island Princess theme and she wanted to invite all her friends. So, we sent out about 30 invites. About 13 children showed up (I was so glad that we didn't have 30 kids). They loved the bouncy house, but we also played games like pin the tiara and the island princess. The kids (including Holly) were so worn out, that I actually ended the party early. That gave us time to clean up and get home to take a nap! Holly had a lot of fun and even now hasn't opened all her presents yet.

Sledding hillbilly style

Sledding hillbilly style

During the snow days we wanted to go sledding. So Chris got a car hood out of his dad's shop and we tied it to the back of Soozee's truck and pulled each other around the field. Yes, we are true hillbillies when were sledding on a car hood! It was a lot of fun though. The car hood collected a lot of snow, so we were covered in snow after each run. Chris drove the truck when Soozee, Amy, and I were on and I almost fell off the hood because Chris wiped us around so hard. I got covered in snow and couldn't get the snow out of my face because I was holding on so tight.

Snow day!

Snow in Sutherlin Oregon

We got lots of snow. On Sunday Jan. 27th it started snowing. It snowed so much that I didn't have to go to work on Monday, either did Chris and the rest of the family. So we had two snow days-Sunday and Monday. We got all dressed up for the snow and played. I put Carson on a trash can lid and we pulled him around the yard-he loved it. Holly and Carson had lots of fun. I think we got about 6 inches, which is unusual for Oregon.
